Those waves of human emotion, they crash all about, thrashing, lifting and rolling. They capsize our reasoning and knowledge, and we are left with nothing but our opinion, a life raft not suited for storms. Our frustration builds its idol and in our haste we are quick to seek refuge at its shores. Since we can’t control the storm, we seek to control what we can by riding it out in our opinion.
But Lord, opinion can’t be trusted as a life raft! We will never be able to experience enough life materials to accumulate our opinion into a life raft. Let us seek a life raft worthy of saving in any circumstance.
“Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the Lord.” Romans 12:19 NLT
And I will call upon Your name, to keep my eyes above the waves. I will rest in Your embrace. I will find safety within its bilge, in this raft I will sit tight as the storm rages on and the Captain swiftly and purposely navigates through the storm.
All we want is calm seas. But in this life there will be storms. Lord grant us access to Your life raft and navigate us to calm seas in heaven.
“Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens! May your glory shine over all the earth.” Psalms 57:5 NLT
Fill this earth with Your Glory! You Lord! You, are above all things! We trust in You!
The time for change has come. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
