effort – ef•fort (noun)
defined as: a vigorous and determined attempt.
Lord I pray this for all of us. Positive attitude is a byproduct of the joy that comes from You. But we have to put forth the effort. You tell us to walk, to go. Walk implies action, a movement – Our faith is an action. This requires effort on our part.
Our dictionary defines effort as a vigorous and determined attempt. So when someone tells us “put forth the effort”, are we truly being vigorous and determined in our attempt? Your Word through Paul tells us, “be honest in your evaluation of yourself, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.” (ref. Romans 12). So are we truly being vigorous and determined in our attempts at allowing our joy to glorify You?!
Guide us Lord! You gave us today as a gift, an opportunity even! Lift our attempts to a vigorous and determined level. May this defined effort allow joy to become the light in a dark place.
In Hot Springs County we pray! We pray for Your life giving churches to thrive. We pray for this action to create a lasting impact to the residents of this county. There are at least 2,791 people who did not claim a church in this county. We pray Lord, that You expand, elevate and reinforce the credibility of Your church in this county and throughout Wyoming.
“I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done. I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name, O Most High.” Psalms 9:1-2 NLT
It all starts with action. An attitude that says “I will”. I will praise YOU! It continues with an attempt that vigorous and determined.
I pray that the believers follow through with vigor and determination to not let the customs and behaviors of this world decide event outcome. Motivate our souls Lord! Inspire us with Your Word!
Our actions will be our voice, not our mouths! And our actions will be dressed in joy! Our joy will point to the source… our Lord Jesus Christ!
The time for change in our communities has come. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
