“Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything. For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross. This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.” Colossians 1:15-22 NLT
Getting out of my own way was bound to happen. The way the events of this church carried the clutter in my mind away, it did something to rid me of the naive arrogance that held me in the past. All my previous perceptions were loosened and tumbled down stream. All the unknowns started to become understood. I learned that, I was the one holding me back.
But You knew that. The intention of Your identity, Your peace, Your persistent patience, flowed over me – eventually eroding all the misplaced things that were put on me, away – they were gone.
While time carry’s me to the banks of the river, evidence of the rivers’ impact sings it’s beautiful song.
At the edge of the river I can truly see the beauty of Your church. The sound carries far, but on the bank – it’s consuming. For the first time, I truly want to sing to You. I want to sing my heart out to You! In the notes of the rushing activity, I can hear others doing the same, I can hear its impact on me, my wife and my children. How refreshing Your Spirit is to the soul!
My Lord, O my Lord – Praise You! It’s our prayer that You increase the flow of Your church throughout Wyoming. Use Your Living Water to pull more to the banks of the river.
Let us pray for the 10,170 people in Carbon County who have yet to connect with a gospel church. We pray for the people connected in the body through Trinity Assembly of God and of Snake River Community Church. May Your Living Water flow through every community. May our Lord expand, elevate and reinforce the credibility of the local church in this county.
As the river flows, so the time has come for us to let the current carry us. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
