County 11 – Park County

Lord, seeing this kind of river for the first time, my knee-jerk instinct was to jump in. There’s excitement in that activity. I just couldn’t ignore my urge to participate in the rolling waters. But unsure of myself and unsure of how the river flows, I started small at first.

Captivated by its beauty, I want to put my hand in it. I start with my fingers.

To “serve in church” is something I never thought of before. I’m generally quiet and reserved on the outside, especially in a setting that I’m not familiar with. As You know, I often saw myself as “that’s not for me”, because there is always “someone else” to “help the church” – as if to say; the church is outside of me.

But You know exactly how I am on the inside, You knew exactly what I needed to do, and You knew exactly HOW I needed to do it.

“Dear brothers and sisters, when I was with you I couldn’t talk to you as I would to spiritual people. I had to talk as though you belonged to this world or as though you were infants in Christ. I had to feed you with milk, not with solid food, because you weren’t ready for anything stronger. And you still aren’t ready,” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭3:1-2 NLT‬‬

By just serving in a small capacity at first, it allowed me to start re-learning an identity, the new one You were birthing in me. You had to get me ready for the next season You we’re pulling me to.

Lord! We pray for the people across our state that are just now experiencing church for the first time. Surround them with patience and grace! Fill them with inspiration that sustains them beyond the beginning stages of their spiritual life. Give them a taste of Your Living Water so that they know to be thirsty for it.

Lord! We give You all praise and thanks! We adore You for the sovereignty imbedded in Your teaching!

We pray for the 15,774 people who have yet to connect into a gospel church in this county. We pray with the those at Harvest Church in Cody. May God continue to expand, elevate and reinforce the credibility of the local church in this county.

As the river flows, so the time has come for us to let the current carry us. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
