Our Lord! We give You praise and thank You for showing us what a servants heart looks like – A Shepherds Heart!
Serving in itself is good, serving with naive intent – will limit and stunt my growth. It won’t prevent it, just stretch it out over seasons.
The coolness I feel gives me a spirit of refreshment.
At first, serving in the church was exciting. It was refreshing to put my resources into a cause that was bigger than a profit and loss statement. One can get the sense that they are really “making an impact”. Truth is, we are, but not in the sense that we are thinking. With enough time, we are the ones being impacted by serving. The impact inside then ripples outward.
“Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.” Philippians 2:2-5 NLT
The Gospel is very productive by taking our internal active growth and efficiently using it to serve others adjacent to the person that’s growing. When we expend ourselves, we increase our abilities. That’s when truth begins to reveal itself within me and I start to learn His will for me.
Lord! Wow! We praise You! Our human mind says: “get me right then I can serve!” The Gospel says: “serve and I will make you right!” Lord, You are truly amazing! Not only do You get us right, but as Your Holy Spirit flows through us it will then pour out onto others around us!
Loving! Productive! Unifying!
We pray for the 6,694 people who have yet to connect into a gospel church in this county. May God continue to expand, elevate and reinforce the credibility of the local church in this county.
As the river flows, so the time has come for us to let the current carry us. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
