County 12 – Lincoln County

Our Lord! We thank You for the – plenty of opportunities – to find blessings that You place in the day.

When we know what to look at and what to look for – blessings abound! Just the simple fact of Your identity is reason enough. But discovering how to connect Your identity to things throughout our day…. wow! our celebration explodes with joy!

I love You Lord Jesus!

It’s our knowing instead of our thinking, that makes the difference. It’s all the difference. Our way of thinking can lead us to poor decisions, it can lead us to regret, it can lead us to frustration, and it can lead us to being annoyed with others.

We can so easily (think) ourselves into temptation. But if we know thinking about certain things can lead us to temptation, then why do we continue to think about those things? If that’s the case, then we should know what {or who rather} gets us out of it. Your prayer literally tells us – “lead us not into temptation”. You get us to a place of knowing. The evil one gets us thinking about things not of You.

“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. ’” Matthew‬ ‭6:13‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Thinking gets us into a mess, knowing will never allow us to get there. It’s what we don’t know that’s the problem. When we don’t know, we begin to try to think our way out. But if our thinking is not rooted in truths, then the thinking that’s in us will lead us down an incorrect path. Then what we’re left with, is blame. “It’s gotta be someone or something else’s fault, right?”

We must change the WAY we think. Not just what we think – but how we think also. If thinking doesn’t lead us to infallible truths, then our way of thinking is wrong. If I think up is down, then throwing a ball that way will end up opposite of my intention. This happens day in and day out. “Well, I put a lot of thought to it, and I just don’t know why it didn’t work out?” How many times have You heard that Lord?

Thinking can lead us TO difficult situations, getting to a place of knowing will BE difficult until the situation. By its very nature, knowing requires time combined with fact. To know, requires effort and patience. Two ingredients necessary for wisdom. But when we think ourselves into a situation, we don’t “have time” to know a way out. So in haste, we have to think up a solution, a remedy, a band-aid if you will, to get out.

Lord, You made our brains beautifully and perfectly. Knowing, simply put, is done in full awareness and consciousness. We are to create with what we know, and what we will truly know comes from You! You gave our brains to us, so let us not squander Your blessing by spending it in empty thought, let us know and begin to tithe our brains for their intended purpose, to glorify You!

As sheep, we either know You or we don’t. Lord, we need to change the way we think so that we all know You.

Lord, we thank You for the people of Lincoln County. May Your presence be felt among the residents through Your believing community. May safety be found in Your flock.

We pray for the 6,694 people who have yet to connect into a gospel church in this county. May God continue to expand, elevate and reinforce the credibility of the local church in this county.

The time to stop following the behaviors of the world have come, the time to live a new life has come! We pray in the name of Christ Jesus! Amen.
