We give You the praise of our life Lord! May our actions sing the song of Your will! May it be a sweet sound to those who’ve never heard it before!
We thank You for the knowledge embedded in the teachings of Scripture. While the teachings are an important blueprint to building ones life, don’t let our minds be limited in their potential.
We look to Creation and we see Your glory in everything! Right down to the very molecules that determine the nature of life.
But when we hear something – from let’s say, the Ten Commandments, we tend hear the “don’ts”. We tend to miss the freedom found in them. The law is not meant to limit how much joy, love, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness or self control we give!
We hear what we “shouldn’t do”, and not the explosive-loving directions that come from them. Because of our sinful nature, we get so focused on the “don’ts”, our minds create a disposition to finding them in others. All those “don’ts” then put fences up, fences that prevent us from leaving the slaveryship of the law. May our hearts live in the expanse of the freedom found in You!
“But the people’s minds were hardened, and to this day whenever the old covenant is being read, the same veil covers their minds so they cannot understand the truth. And this veil can be removed only by believing in Christ.” 2 Corinthians 3:14 NLT
Lord, tear down that veil! Do we believe the law sets us free, or do we believe You?!
“So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.” Galatians 5:1 NLT
Lord, point out the fences in our life that we need to tear down. We’ve been set free, but we’ve trapped ourselves in the limited thinking of our academic knowledge of scripture.
Let us all pause… Holy Spirit, speak Your will to us.
In the journey of life, we get so focused on the speed limit, we don’t even pay attention to the beauty of Your glory that constantly surrounds us.
We love You Lord Jesus!
Lord we pray that Your local church becomes known in this county. We pray boldness into the preachers and speakers of Your will. May the fences of the church be torn down and the lost may come to find even a fraction of Your character!
We pray for the 22,901 people who have yet to connect into a gospel church in this county. May You Lord, expand, elevate, and reinforce by the credibility of the local church in this county.
The time for our conversations about church to increase has come. It’s in the name of the Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.
