Learning to learn with eternity in mind.
I’ve once heard – “a parable is an earthly story with a heavenly meaning.” Think about it; how else would we be able to connect what we’ve experienced to something we could never relate to by perspective? Our brains can get lost in just trying to comprehend the distance to Proxima Centauri (closest star to us other than our sun). In order for the eternal curtain to be pulled back, our brains must be forced to stretch in faith.
Sometimes the best way to learn, is to be given a riddle only to be forced to figure it out on our own. Frustrating yes, but fruitful for sure.
Lord in Heaven, our God, The Holy One; thank You for the mysteries that surround us. We seek, we trust, we seek some more, we trust, we discover, then we find peace.
Our Creator! You gave us capable brains! May we let our knowledge lead to eternal understanding that then leads to worship of You! We long for a oneness with You Lord!
“To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them. That is why I use these parables, For they look, but they don’t really see. They hear, but they don’t really listen or understand.” Matthew 13:12-13 NLT
Lord, give ears to the earless! Leave no one left out Lord. When our minds are forced to stretch, some of us will want to give up or stop pursuing. But that’s precisely when Your fruit is about to bloom within us!
Lord, give sight to the sightless! Leave no one left out Lord! Our vision will be required to reach beyond our limited sight; that’s the moment we need the eternal curtain pulled back!
Our soul longs for You, nothing else will do! Your parables teach by connecting our (now) to heaven, they teach by forcing us to look beyond now and seeing eternally!
Today we pray with, and for the people of Wyoming through Uinta County. We pray for a connection through the I Heart Wyoming initiative. We pray for the at least 8,303 people in this county who have yet to be rooted in new growth through a gospel church. May our Lord expand, elevate and reinforce the credibility of the local church in this county.
The time for growth through education has come. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
